First things first. This is not an English version of this blog. There is no way that I have the time to do that and after all my target audience are mostly Indonesian. This is just an English explanation about this blog. But why would I put an English explanation if I don’t plan to have an English content here? I’ll come to that part later.

This blog was previously published on http://www.suarane.com. However due to some problem with my hosting provider (whom on one fine day suddenly decided to play God and delete a 3 years worth of data without any explanation) I then decided to publish it here until God knows when..

This blog was initially meant to be somekind of a documentation of my experience (currently coming in to 13 years) in radio broadcasting. This is where I keep various articles, training materials, ideas, papers, tutorials, translation etc and hope that it would somehow be usefull to my fellow Indonesian who have the same interest as I do.

However, during the suarane.com years (May the God’s of blog rest my previous blog’s soul :-)) I have received several questions from those interested to have their English article translated into Indonesian and published here. Why not? I even managed to translate two interesting articles which I have received but then - too bad - it’s gone with my previous hosting. So if you’re interested to reach my fellow Indonesian broadcaster by having your articles published here, please do not hesitate to contact me at jafmail[at]gmail.com. As long as it’s related to radio broadcasting, I would be glad to help you translate it. What’s the catch? -you might ask- None! Having your article on this blog is more than enough for me.. (So there you go, I guess that explains why I need to put an English explanation about this blog.)

ABOUT ME
I am an Indonesian, currently working for an international radio station in Singapore. Previously I was a radio broadcaster and journalist in Jakarta, Indonesia. I’ve been in this business for almost 13 years and still in love with it. In my spare time -infact most of my spare time- I like to blog. I’m also currently in the phase of writing a book on Radio Broadcasting in Indonesian language, as well as a novel based on radio broadcasting and politics (which is currently in the hands of a lunatic editor whom I believe is enjoying cutting down pieces to pieces of my novel ). I’m now living in Singapore with my wive and a pretty little princess whom I think has developed an interest in becoming a broadcaster like her father

Oops, left out one important details: my name! To my fellow blogger I am known as “JaF” but to my fellow listeners, they know me more as Rane. That’s my real name by the way.
